Accordingly residents of the Monaragala District are now able to obtain certified copies of birth, marriage and death certificates within a few minutes, says the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA).
ICTA Chief Executive Officer says that this facility is provided in coincidence with the “Dayata Kirula 2011” national exhibition.
The project was launched under the guidance of Telecommumication and Information Technology Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya in the Monaragala District last December.
ICTA CEO said that 570,000 birth certificates of the Monaragala District had been automated..
The first certified copy of the birth certificate under this project will be issued at the ICTA exhibition stall of the Buttala “Dayata Kirula 2011” Exhibition premises on Saturday fifth instant. Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and Uva Province Chief Minister Shashendra Rajapaksa will participate in the occasion.
ICTA says that in addition the public will be able to see at the ICTA exhibition stall of the “Dayata Kirula 2011” several projects that have been launched for the empowerment of the people by the use of ICT.
ICTA has taken steps to enable people to see in a practical way how ICT has been used to make public service efficient.
Reports say that at the exhibition the public will be able to see live demonstrations of the service rendered to the people through the Government Information Service (1919) and the ‘Nenasala’ wisdom centres.
The “Dayata Kirula 2011” national exhibition will be held at Buttala from 4th to 11th instant.
The mentioned Birth, Marriage and Death certificate digitization services provided by Sanje Lanka Private Limited and company also provide the electronic document management solution and live run support during the exhibition period.
