President launches computerised issue of birth certificates at ‘Deyata Kirula 2011’

In the sidelines of the ‘Deyata Kirula’ 2011 in Buttala, President Mahinda Rajapaksa launched the computerised issue of birth certificates project, thus enabling thousands of people in the Moneragala District to get their certificates with ease.

With ICTA’s internationally acclaimed BMD project going live in Moneragala from last week, the people of the Moneragala District are able to get certified copies of the birth, marriage and death certificates they require within five minutes. Thanks to this kick-off, certificates of birth, marriage or death (BMD) relevant to anyone in the District could be obtained with hither-to-unknown ease irrespective of the Divisional Secretariat or Grama Niladhari Division in the District he belongs to.

“Within two months we have computerised the birth certificates of the entire Moneragala District totalling almost 600,000,” ICTA CEO Reshan Dewapura says.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa handed over the first computerised birth certificate to a Moneragala resident at the ICTA exhibition stall.

Minister of Telecommunication and IT Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and UVA Chief Minister Sasheendra Rajapaksa were also present at the occasion.

Live ICTA projects including instant BMD certificate issue at Buttala "Dayata Kirula 2011"

The automation of all birth certificates of the Monaragala District has been completed.
Accordingly residents of the Monaragala District are now able to obtain certified copies of birth, marriage and death certificates within a few minutes, says the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA).
ICTA Chief Executive Officer says that this facility is provided in coincidence with the “Dayata Kirula 2011” national exhibition.
The project was launched under the guidance of Telecommumication and Information Technology Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya in the Monaragala District last December.
ICTA CEO said that 570,000 birth certificates of the Monaragala District had been automated..
The first certified copy of the birth certificate under this project will be issued at the ICTA exhibition stall of the Buttala “Dayata Kirula 2011” Exhibition premises on Saturday fifth instant. Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and Uva Province Chief Minister Shashendra Rajapaksa will participate in the occasion.
ICTA says that in addition the public will be able to see at the ICTA exhibition stall of the “Dayata Kirula 2011” several projects that have been launched for the empowerment of the people by the use of ICT.
ICTA has taken steps to enable people to see in a practical way how ICT has been used to make public service efficient.
Reports say that at the exhibition the public will be able to see live demonstrations of the service rendered to the people through the Government Information Service (1919) and the ‘Nenasala’ wisdom centres.
The “Dayata Kirula 2011” national exhibition will be held at Buttala from 4th to 11th instant.

The mentioned Birth, Marriage and Death certificate digitization services provided by Sanje Lanka Private Limited and company also provide the electronic document management solution and live run support during the exhibition period.

BMD Services for Kegalle District

Sanje started BMD project digitization services for Kegalle District with grand project launch with the participation of Hon. W D J Senevirathne Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs, Hon. Ranjith Siyabalapitiya Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology, Hon. Maheepala Herath Chief Minister of Sabaragamuwa Province and Hon. Lalith Dissanayake Deputy Minister of Health together with senior ICTA and other government officials from Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs and Registrar General's Department.

Sanje won contract for BMD project in Moneragala District

Sanje Lanka Private Limited won the contract for Birth, Marriage and Death Certificate digitization in the Moneragala District. This project is aimed at enabling electronic birth, marriage and death certificate issuance to general public at Monegala district. This solution and the services to be showcase at Deyata Kirula 2011 Exhibition.

Birth, Marriage and Death certificate digitization and issuing through electronic document management system concept developed by ICTA agency, Registrar General's Department, Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs together with Sanje Lanka Private Limited in year 2007 for the Colombo District and now the services are available to most of the districts in Sri Lanka.

The services provided by Sanje Lanka for this project recognized by the Sri Lanka government with the Gold Award at e-Swarnabhimani 2010.
